Steven and Carra sign until 2011.
So this is what a summer without endless speculation over Gerrard's future at the club feels like. I could get used to this.
Seriously, though, I'm glad they signed so quickly. I never really thought either of them were going anywhere, but with the ownership changes and all that, it's still nice to see this. Now if they could just get Alonso's contract sorted, and quickly, I'd be happy. (If you're going to sell one central midfielder, make it Sissoko. I love him, but Mascherano's better, and they're pretty much the same player.)

Transfer speculation, or not.

Aw, fuck it. I'm starting up the 'Stevie G to Chelsea' rumors will my next weekly transfer gossip recap.
Xabi to Milan!
Scott: please don't. I'm fragile enough thinking that Ancelotti's talking about Xabi here. I don't think he's really a big enough name to bring about the end of the world, but you know. He needs to sign, and fast.
Goalbot: hush, you. ;)
I could have said Henry to Milan (since, even though I'm an Arsenal supporter, I don't necessarily care if he goes -- to my other favorite team), but that doesn't really upset you too much.
goalbot: True. I'm just trying to figure out who would be a big enough name, and surprising enough, that it would be the end of the world. All I can think is, like Ronaldinho. But there's been speculation about that for a while, so I don't know.
Like I already told you, if it's Ronaldinho, I'd cry. It would also be the worst kept secret in the history of, I don't know, something secret. I have no idea what Carlo thinks is 'the end of the world,' unless he's signing the anti-Christ.
Ancelotti can't sign the anti-Christ. Kaka wouldn't stand for it.
Great blog title!
I heard Ancelotti wants Henry.
I'd swap Xabi for Eto
