- Liverpool win their fourth preseason friendly. Interesting, though, that (I believe) Torres hasn't scored yet. Hopefully this is just him taking a little bit of time to warm up.
- Dudek's really going to Real. I have to say, I don't understand this deal at all. I know he was basically the Cup keeper last season, but he didn't really do well when he did get to play. Whatever; he's finally gone. He burned through his Istanbul credit really fast for me, and I think he should have probably gone in January 2006.
- Totti retires from international play. I don't know how much they'll miss him -- he's always been a better club player than international, but I do like him.
- And two stories I am sick of: Beckham not likely to play against Chelsea tomorrow, and no one knows who controls Carlos Tevez's contract. Ugh. I feel like we've been hearing about these since last year. Over it.
- And finally today, this is perhaps the most clueless marketing I've ever seen. Soccer is hard! Boys are cute! Um, which US team has won the World Cup again? (Thanks to Jen for the link.)

The 'marketing' attempted in that last link doesn't just hit all my raaaaaaaaaaaage buttons, it jumps up and down on them and does a little dance.
Oh boy.
I still think Liverpool are missing a poacher - but now they have all those players for 'the hole'. Maybe Kuyt will be freed up to play further forward instead of dropping so deep and running his little socks off now. He might get a hatful for you this season.
So winning you the CL is only worth a year's credit? Jesus, you're fickle.
Say what you will, but when faced with the choice of picking splinters out of your arse in Merseyside or Madrid, I think most would pick Spain. Dudek was and still is a bloody good keeper, and I can't see Carson happily playing second fiddle to Reina. Add to the equation that Reina was looking a tad shaky last season, having a keeper like Dudek who can step in straight away and produce a decent performance can only be a good thing. Carson is young, and inexperienced, and considering Robinson's obvious shortcomings between the sticks, he wants to get the #1 shirt for England. He won't like sitting around watching everyone else.
And I'm a Spurs fan.
